YVR's 12th Annual Hamper Drive on December 8th
YVR’s Hamper Drive is back.
Here are the details.
…
Save the Date – The YVR Holiday Hamper Drive is back… with a NEW Pop-Up Grocery Market!
Date: Thursday, December 8, 2022
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: The Spirit of Haida Gwaii (The Jade Canoe), International Departures Level 3
After two years on the curb for our annual hamper drive, we're bringing the festivities back indoors and returning to the Jade Canoe—but this year, we are switching things up a bit with the 12th annual YVR Holiday Hamper Drive. Due to the rising cost of food and the busy-ness that is the holiday season, we’ve partnered with Quest Outreach Society to secure quality wholesale items and bring a Pop Up Grocery Market to YVR. From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Jade Canoe, YVR employees, passengers, business partners and community are invited to complete a One Stop, Shop & Drop Hamper Drive! Shop the shelves of the Quest Pop Up Grocery Market, fill your hamper bag and check out (a.k.a. make a donation to Quest Outreach Society). Suggested donation per hamper is $20/hamper but we are also accepting “give what you can.” This year our goal is 1250 hampers, aiming to feed 7500 British Columbians.
The NEW Hamper Drive concept will look as follows:
1. Stop by the Jade Canoe between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on December 8. Receive a YVR branded shopping bag(s) while entering the “market”.
2. Shop the market shelves to fill your bag(s) with Hamper items.
3. Drop your hamper off after visiting the “check out” to make a donation (cash, credit)
If you would prefer to build your own hamper like in past years, we can provide a shopping list of Hamper items. We kindly request that you purchase quality products to ensure families have a special meal. At this time, we are not able to distribute YVR hamper bags as they have not yet arrived.
If you have any questions, please reach out to community_relations@yvr.ca. More information is available at yvr.ca/hamperdrive (and you can make a donation in advance). We have attached a promotional poster and would appreciate you sharing with your organization. If you can’t make the event, we can pack your hamper(s) for you, just donate through the link provided.
We're hopeful that the YVR team and our partners can be as generous as ever to help achieve our goal of filling 1250 hampers!
